Economic and Social Research Council

The ESRC is inviting full research proposals for projects under the second phase of this programme from researchers based at UK higher education institutions and other research institutes eligible for Research Council funds. The IHTs Phase II commissioning panel expects a wide range of applications covering the four priority areas identified in the Phase II Specification .

It is particularly interested in attracting interdisciplinary projects, including those that, where appropriate, bring together researchers from social science and health research-based communities. Proposals may focus on new, emerging or existing technologies that are innovative in either a social and/ or technical sense. Technologies encompass not only new drugs, procedures, and forms of health delivery but also organisational and socio-economic systems within which health is located.
