Brian Lattimer is department head and Nicholas and Rebecca des Champs chair in mechanical engineering at Virginia Tech. He has been a principal investigator and co-principal investigator on more than 35 projects totalling more than $20 million (£15.4 million) in funding. He is a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Society of Fire Protection Engineers.
