Plymouth University launched a scheme this week to widen participation from Cornish schoolchildren coming from families where there is no tradition of university study.
Participants will receive extra learning assistance from the university's e-mentoring scheme, which involves Plymouth students providing information, advice and support via weekly emails to those taking part.
Students will also collect evidence for school records of achievement and gain a certificate for each year of completion. This will provide evidence of their efforts for potential universities and employers.
