The Daphne Jackson Trust has named its 100th fellow since it was set up ten years ago.
Kimberley Willis, who has a PhD in chemistry from Sheffield University, was awarded the fellowship, which was named after Britain's first female professor of physics. It was set up to provide a two-year part-time postdoctoral position to those who have taken a break from a science or engineering-related career due to family commitments.
She will return to Sheffield to work on the synthesis of novel polymers that can be used in disposable electronic devices.
