Generous Gates aids Cambridge scholars

Cambridge University has confirmed plans for a multimillion pound programme of scholarships, funded by Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates.

Cambridge's council has proposed a Pounds 139 million "Cambridge Gates Scholarship Trust" for foreign students.
