STUDENTS are increasingly relying on money from their parents to see them through university, according to a Barclays Bank survey. Interviews with 1,921 students from 16 universities, showed 37 per cent cited parents as their main source of income, compared with just 23 per cent in 1993. They are also becoming more career-minded, with 22 per cent considering future job prospects when choosing a course, compared with 13 per cent three years ago. Nearly two-thirds of first year students have saved money before going to university.
