The University of Strathclyde came top of the politics unit of assessment, climbing from 11th place in 2014 after its GPA improved from 3.04 to 3.56. Royal Holloway, University of London was second, improving its position substantially from the 28th position it achieved last time. London School of Economics dropped to third from second.
The University of Essex – first last time – fell to sixth after its GPA dropped from 3.54 to 3.46. The University of Sheffield, third in 2014, was 10th this time because its GPA stayed the same at 3.4.
At a national level the Politics and International Studies UoA has a GPA of 3.20, with 37 per cent of its submission rated 4*. 1961.82 FTE staff were submitted to this UoA.
