Loch Ness may have its monster and the Himalayas their Yeti, but the mystery beasts are a little more high-tech in Sussex. An electronic discussion group reports that the University of Sussex's Centre for Computational Neuroscience and Robotics has mislaid three khepera robots, which may even now be worrying sheep and stopping traffic. They are said to be "easy to program", low maintenance and "not dangerous", but perhaps this last clause will have to be rewritten soon. They are also cheap - just as well, one might think.
If you spot what might be a robot lurking in your shrubbery, Matt Quinn at Sussex would love to be told.
