The Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) has published a call for tenders to provide scientific support in the coordination of the BioSoil study (soil component) in the framework of the Forest Focus regulation.
The BioSoil project aims to carry out an inventory of soil chemical characteristics and forest biodiversity at the level I plots. The specific activities of this service consist of the coordination of the BioSoil study and the provision of central laboratory services for soil analysis and data.
This stage will produce a functional computer system (including software for data analysis and a soil database), the provision of a central analytical laboratory service that would allow the undertaking of the work defined under Stage 2.management. This activity will include the development of the soil component of the Forest Focus database at the JRC, its integration with the existing European Soil Information System, its evaluation for reporting and the laboratory analysis of a subset of soil samples for benchmarking, quality control and harmonisation of data.
