Special Research Grant

Recognising that some research cannot be conducted within the financial limits and time constraints of a regular research grant, JDF will consider requests over $100,000 per year with a term of support beyond two years with prior approval.

Innovative Grant

Supports highly innovative basic and clinical research that is at the developmental stage by providing "seed" money for investigative work.

Postdoctoral Fellowship

Microbial/Disinfection By-Products Council Request For Proposals Replication of Study of Spontaneous Abortions and Disinfection By-Product Exposures (RFP 2579)

The goal of this project is to determine if the results reported by Waller et al. (1998) can be replicated in areas of the United States other than California. Specifically, this project will investigate whether exposure to trihalomethanes (THMs) and individual THM species, (especially bromodichloromethane), haloacetic acids species (HAAs), or other disinfection by-products (DBPs) may be associated with an increased risk of spontaneous abortion (SAB). If feasible, other reproductive endpoints may be included in the study.

Application procedure and deadline

The general guidelines for preparing solicited proposals are available on the website. The guidelines contain certain provisions and scoring criteria that the submitter should be aware of when preparing a proposal. Proposals are to be submitted to the project manager, Jarka Popovicova, Ph.D., and must be postmarked on or before April 1. Questions to clarify the intent of this Request for Proposal may be addressed to the project manager at (303) 734-3422 or by e-mail at jpopovicova@ awwarf.com.
