Manchester University was hit by industrial action on Tuesday as members of the administrative and clerical union Unison protested about pay.
A union spokeswoman said members would now be working to rule, refusing to cooperate with Teaching Quality Assessments and considering other action short of a strike in support of their claim for a 10 per cent pay rise. They have voted to reject the 3.5 per cent awarded last month.
