Fears that Trevor Robbins, one of the biggest names in British neuroscience, was about to jump ship and move to America happily seem to have come to nothing. The prestigious National Institute of Mental Health was rumoured to have put in a supersize bid for the professor of cognitive neuroscience at Cambridge University. But sources close to Professor Robbins say that Cambridge mounted a robust response despite its cash problems and managed to keep him. And perhaps finally winning fellowship of the Royal Society made him feel a little more fond of dear old Blighty.
