Imperial College London and King's College London hope to profit from partnerships with venture capitalists. Imperial plans to raise £50 million to invest in spin-off companies from its partnership with specialist biosciences fund manager, BioScience Managers Ltd. King's has signed a £5 million agreement with IP2IPO, a subsidiary of an investment bank. IP2IPO will invest in the college's spin-off companies over the next five years, in return for a 20 per cent share of the college's interest in them.
