Dressed to impress or distress? 4

六月 10, 2005

Dress codes for lecturers are not new. A few years ago, I was part of a group being briefed prior to a stint of teaching in prison. As the oldest and least attractive member, I was taken aback when the person in charge advised, "and don't wear anything provocative", and appeared to stare directly at my cords (Taiwanese, 1977, Shipley Market, £7.99, broken in). Needing the work, I dispensed with them, but not immediately.
