One is disappointed to find a senior academic as prejudiced against innovation as Alison Pollock ("Markets will value cash over caring", August ). It is no coincidence that both major parties are proposing policies that introduce choice into healthcare. Monopoly state socialism is finished. It has proved inefficient, expensive and uncaring.
Where Pollock is spiriting us back to 1948, the Government and the Opposition are reaching for a 21st-century version of healthcare that works. Why not allow someone the same number of words to argue for outright denationalisation?
