How does the value of foundation degrees (Opinion, THES , January 16) compare with the equivalent BTec higher certificates available in many local further education colleges?
These courses do not have the student-loan "advantage" of higher education courses, but students can, by living at home, avoid much expense.
Are foundation degrees promoted just to support the government's 50 per cent agenda?
