Your grant allocations analysis ("Winners and losers in research cash stakes" THES , March 7) used information issued in March 2002 to calculate teaching resource allocated in 2003 relative to 2002.
Our grant was renegotiated after the indicative allocations in March 2002 and was confirmed in July. There may have been other institutions in this position. As a result, our calculation indicates that our teaching grant has actually been reduced by 0.12 per cent and not the 10.1 per cent shown in your table.
