Entry toughens up for engineering courses

TOUGH new entry standards for engineering degree courses could halve the number of engineering graduates, vice chancellors have warned. The revisions to the programme "Standards and Routes to Registration" (SARTOR) proposed by the Engineering Council, may cause extra falls in applications to study engineering, which have fallen by 15 per cent, says the Committee of Vice Chancellors and Principals.
