UWIC stumps up for cricketing scholar

international cricketer Dean Cosker has become the first person to gain a sports scholarship from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff. Mr Cosker, who played for England's under-19 team and plays for Glamorgan, joins UWIC in October this year to study for a BA (Hons) in sport and human movement studies. He will receive Pounds 1,000 each year for three years to assist with the cost of equipment, travel and other costs related to his cricketing. Mr Cosker also receives free specialist coaching, fitness testing and dietary advice, medical insurance and access to training equipment.
