Who needs the Scottish parliament? Scotland already appears to have declared UDI through abandoning the English language. The information superhighway is about to be signposted in Scots, thanks to the Scottish National Dictionary Association's new website, which erstwhile surfers can find by "stravaigin the Net" until they reach http://www.snda.org.uk.
The Scottish Consultative Council on the Curriculum this week held a conference on Scottish culture in education, whose programme abandoned the usual "plenary session" for "clishmaclavers frae the hale clanjamfrie". Any more examples should be submitted immediately to the SNDA's "word snowker", or hunter, which asks for reports of Scots words which can then be included on its "Scuil Wab".
