Apathetic assessment

Thomas Harrison’s article “Let the right one in” (Opinions, 21 August) argued about the importance of including in the selection process an assessment of candidates’ teaching in action. But which notional student views should be considered by learned assessors of teaching practice – the gifted few, the listless, the desperate or the busy scribes, heads down as if in the presence of an ancient pharaoh?
