Video: Pi Day – MIT reimagines admissions

The best way to notify successful university applicants? Drones, of course

三月 14, 2015

Saturday, 14 March 2015 is Pi Day, so-called because when written in the US format, the date (3.14.15) recreates the first five digits of pi.

It is also the day on which the Massachusetts Institute of Technology tells applicants if they have secured a place to study.

In a video entitled “Keep Your Eyes to the Skies this Pi Day”, posted on the MIT Bloggers YouTube channel, Stu Schmill, dean of admissions, demonstrates what the process might look like if a university had access to thousands of drones.

A bit of fun, or a glimpse into the future?
