Oxford Business School to get Pounds 20m

七月 11, 1997

OXFORD University's new business school is to be bolstered by another benefactor.

Neither the donor's identity nor the size of the donation are yet known, but a university spokesperson said an announcement was expected later this month.

A postal ballot of Congregation, Oxford's "parliament", agreed by 1,280 votes to 237 to allow a Pounds 20-million donation from Saudi Arabian businessman Wafic Said to go ahead. The school will bear his name.

The ballot was called by staff opposed to the scheme after Congregation last month voted by 342 to 55 in its favour.
