York St John University’s history dates back to 1841 when St John’s College was founded as an Anglican teacher training college. In 1846 Ripon College opened for women and in 1974 the two colleges merged to form the College of Ripon and York St John. In 2005 the college was granted university status and in 2006 it became York St John University.

There are over 100 undergraduate courses available for students to choose from. These are divided into nine schools: art, design and computer science; business; education; health sciences; humanities; religion and philosophy; languages and linguistics; performance and media production, psychological and social sciences, and sport. The university also offers several postgraduate degree programmes.

The university is committed to challenging prejudice and inequity within the community. This is achieved through various research projects, which target areas of society that need improving. Research is carried out at the university’s research institutes including the International Centre for Community Music, the Centre for Language and Social Justice Research and the Centre for Religion in Society.

The university is located in the historic city of York, in northeast England, United Kingdom. Founded by the Romans, York has a rich history, which has been preserved in a number of landmarks including the 13th century Gothic cathedral, York Minster. The city is known for The Shambles, a set of cobbled streets with traditional shop fronts and timber-framed houses, which attract increasing numbers of visitors every year. For those wishing to explore other areas of the UK, Leeds is just a 20 minute train journey whilst London can be reached within two hours on the train.

The Department of Arts and Design of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in Architecture and Urban Design Practice.  According to the current plan, a Faculty of Design will be established at the new campus, offering undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in Architecture and Urban Design. Qualifications 1. Doctoral degree (or equivalent terminal degree) in Architecture and Urban Design or related areas; 2. A track record in design practice, teaching and research in one or more of the following areas: a. architecture and urban design practice; b. advanced architecture and urban design technology; 3. Extensive experience as a practitioner and educator for senior positions; 4. An excellent record of architecture and urban design projects and design awards is preferred; 5. Proficiency in industry-standard software and emerging tools; 6. Comprehensive experience in teaching and supervising both postgraduate and undergraduate students is an advantage; 7. Proficiency in English is required, and proficiency in Chinese is an advantage; 8. Possession of a recognized professional license for architecture and urban design practice. The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2026. Remuneration A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. We are offering an exciting opportunity for two Clinical Psychologists to join the Clinical Psychology Training Programme at the University of Surrey, based in Guildford. We have two permanent, part-time roles available (0.6 FTE/21.6 hours per week). We are happy to support hybrid working but the post holder is expected to be in on Tuesday when the trainees are at the University, and at least one other day per week.  The role The programme has expanded significantly in recent years due to increased NHS England funding. The Department places a strong emphasis on both quality education and scholarly research/services, and has reached a significant milestone where its educational programmes are not only innovative but also accessible, and its major areas of research strength are well recognised and supported.  It is now inviting applications for the position of: Associate Professor / Assistant Professor (25260426) Responsibilities: The appointee will be expected to conduct independent, high-quality research, foster interdisciplinary collaborations, and demonstrate research achievements of originality and depth. The ideal candidate will have the potential to become a leading international scholar and contribute to impactful research and innovative technological applications. The appointee will also supervise MPhil and PhD students, develop a vigorous research program at the forefront of basic and translational chemical / environmental engineering, and engage in broader scholarly activities such as organising academic conferences, symposia, and seminars. Requirements: Applicants should hold a PhD in Chemical Science or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering, Biomedical Science or Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. They must have relevant postdoctoral research experience, an excellent track record of publications in high-impact peer-reviewed international journals (as first and/or senior author), and a strong history of securing external research funding through competitive grants. The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences is seeking to appoint a motivated individual to join the Medical Programme Professional Service Team. The post holder will work closely with the Senior Administrative Officer and Medical Programme Manager to support them in delivering assessment and progression processes and for the School of Medicine’s Graduate Medicine programme. The role This role will focus on managing and implementing processes in relation to all aspects of student assessment and ensuring accurate records and data are managed and in line with University and GMC regulations. The postholder is expected to build a knowledge of the systems and processes involved in order to meet expectations for recording and tracking student progress. About you The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate strong technical and IT skills with a focus on reporting data and supporting the development of bespoke systems aimed at monitoring and recording student data. They should be a proactive individual, competent in the use of IT with an attitude open to change and working independently. The ability to work to a high level of accuracy is also essential. The role will require excellent interpersonal and organisational ability demonstrating adaptability and flexibility with regards to changing workloads and priorities. The role will involve working with a range of staff across the School of Medicine and wider university and to adapt and support a number of professional administrative activities involved in the BMBS Graduate Medicine programme. We are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic and responsible person, with the ability to work both as an effective team member and independently.
