Jiangsu University

Jiangsu University is a comprehensive university located in Jiangsu Province. Its engineering, material sciences, clinical medicine and chemistry are among the top global 1 per cent, according to the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) ranking system. There have been 2,513 patent applications and 1,320 invention patents issued to it. The university has teaching and experimental equipment worth Rmb 600 million (£62 million). The university library has a collection of 2.6 million books and 1.2 million e-books. Jiangsu University Publishing House and the Jiangsu University hospital are two major affiliations. The university takes an active role in national and regional scientific and technological innovations and social services. Jiangsu University cooperates with enterprises in research and development, technical services and personnel training and helps enterprises to improve product performance and upgrade products. Its National University Science Park is an incubation base for high-tech projects. It has a very close relationship with industries. The university has established long-term cooperative relationship with 87 universities and research institutes in 31 countries and regions. It runs the Confucius Institute with Graz University, and the co-built Chinese-German Language and Culture Center has recently opened. It also has collaborative programmes with Magdeburg University (Germany) and Acadia University (the US). Jiangsu University is now striving to become a high level international university.
