Manchester genes a hit with shoppers

MORE THAN 6,000 people visited Britain's first Gene Shop - the brainchild of a Manchester University lecturer - in the six months since it opened. The shop at Manchester Airport is a joint venture between the centre for professional ethics at the University of Central Lancashire and the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, where Dr Maurice Super, the Gene Shop's professional director and founder, is partly based. The shop offers information about genes, genetic testing and how to obtain specialist services.
