PERAK will be the first of Malaysia's northern states to establish bilateral education links with Indonesia's Northern Sumatera when Premier Yayasan Perak College sets up a branch in Medan this year, writes Geoff Scott.
The branch will enable Indonesian students to do the first two years of their courses there before coming to Malaysia to complete, while Malays can start in Malaysia and complete their courses in Indonesian universities.
The college already has a twinning programme with the John Moores University in Liverpool and business and accountancy courses with Thames Valley.
