Twenty-five higher education institutions have signed up to a new two-year programme aimed at greening Britain's universities and colleges. The HE21 project, run by the environmental charity Forum for the Future, aims to identify and promote examples of best practice for sustainability in the higher education sector and develop guidance for higher education institutes on environmental management, curriculum development and community-based learning. The project is funded by a Department of the Environment grant as well as by participating higher education institutes themselves.
