ELECTRICAL engineers at Edinburgh University are taking part in a European Union project to design and develop ways of assessing the economic impact of introducing renewable energy into an electrical supply network.
The project will look at the technical and financial aspects of generating electricity by means including wind and biogas from waste. The work, which will involve collaboration with academics in Denmark, France, Sweden and Austria, will help provide a common framework that can be used by public agencies, renewable energy developers and electricity supply utilities looking at future electricity generation options.
