SOAS students protest library restriction

十一月 28, 1997

STUDENTS staged sit-ins at the School of Oriental and African Studies last week in protest at their reduced access to the University of London library. SOAS is one of several colleges to cut library use after subscription rates were hiked this year. The university's library board set subscriptions at Pounds 70 per library member in a bid to avoid a repeat of last year's deficit. For SOAS it would have meant increasing subscriptions from Pounds 48,000 to Pounds 200,000 a year.
