RICHARD Jolliffe isone of six pre-pilot guinea-pigs. Now in the second year of a social and managementsciences course, which has no inbuilt work experience, he has drawn on his job for Marks and Spencer in Edinburgh as a till assistant and shelf stacker.
He undertook a project on how well the store's training for temporary seasonal staff, manyof them students, prepared them for the Christmas rush.
"It takes away themundane aspect of a part-time job, which would have been monotonous otherwise," he said. "It gives me something to look forward to and think about. I can talk to management, andit's certainly got me noticed a bit more and got me Brownie points."
