University collaborations were among the winners in the latest round of the government's Biotechnology Challenges. The Department of Trade and Industry this week announced that Pounds 3 million will go to ten projects to help researchers commercialise their ideas. Among the winners was a joint venture between London's Imperial College, University College and Kings College; a proposal from the four universities in the Manchester and Salford areas and the three major research NHS trusts; and a joint project between the technology transfer companies at the universities of Exeter and Plymouth.
