Surveys differ on student response to fees

ONLY 10 per cent of final-year students in top universities say paying tuition fees would have made it less likely for them to start university, according to High Fliers, an independent research company. But a survey of 46,419 students in the universities most highly-rated by graduate employers found responses differed according to income, with a quarter of students now receiving a maintenance grant saying they would have been deterred.
