A new style of music has unexpectedly emerged from Dundee University computer research. A CD album of music from the television show Jupiter Moon has been released, featuring electronic speech created in Dundee's department of applied computing. Segments featured on the album include synthetic voices, computer generated singing and a limerick with synthesised laughter.
Lecturer Iain Murray said: "We produced many segments for the recordings using several of our computer speech systems which are normally used in our research work creating systems for non-speaking people. Unusual voice control techniques have been used to create different voice effects."
