No Scots MPs on the standing committee

Scottish educationists are dismayed to find that there are no Scots MPs on the standing committee, writes Olga Wojtas.

The Association of University Teachers Scotland has written to Scottish Secretary Donald Dewar urging that the committee's membership be adjusted or increased to include "a fair and balanced involvement of Scottish MPs".

And Andrew Welsh, parliamentary education spokesperson for the Scottish National Party, is to table an amendment, aiming to delay the bill's implementation until the Scottish parliament has debated the provisions relating to Scotland.
