As Edinburgh's tenth international science festival gets under way tomorrow, Napier University is highlighting a debate on developments in biotechnology, between Kenneth Boyd of Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and Ian Wilmut, creator of Dolly the sheep.

With Dolly still shy of her second birthday, the press release asks whether humans are "as moral animals, grown up enough to handle this beautiful but double-edged sword?" Edinburgh University, meanwhile, is mounting a challenge to Blue Peter, seeking participants to design and make an egg carton using only two sheets of A4 paper and two paper clips. And its SCI-FUN team from the faculty of science and engineering is set to reveal during a session on the electron why the Teletubbies will not go to the North Pole.
