BEING a couch potato can lead to higher education, according to the BBC. BBC Education has commissioned John Storan, director of South Bank University's continuing education centre, to investigate ways to "move viewers from a passive interest in a subject to active learning through courses". "We know that many of our viewers want to learn more about the subjects of our programmes," said BBC Education's Jenny Hunt.
