Mark Pepys, professor of immunological medicine at Imperial College School of Medicine and consultant physician at Hammersmith Hospital, fellow of the Royal Society, has been appointed professor of medicine and head of the department of medicine; Humphrey Hodgson, professor of medicine at Imperial College School of Medicine, clinical director of medicine and director of the gastrointestinal unit at Hammersmith Hospital, has been appointed to a second chair in medicine.
