The Scottish Higher Education Funding Council has awarded Pounds 161,500 to three universities to help develop a learning network for remote sensing, a method of studying the environment on local, regional and global scales using emerging technologies. The project will ensure that all universities in Scotland have access to high-quality interactive multimedia learning and support materials. Network applications will cover archaeology, urban monitoring and planning and mineral exploration.
The three project partners are the University of Paisley's department of electronic engineering and physics; Edinburgh University's department of meteorology; and Dundee University's department of applied physics, electrical and mechanical engineering.
