Education is the least good predictor of management success, according to Cranfield University researchers.
A worldwide study looking at what determines a person's success or failure in an organisation put charisma, robustness and tolerance of others higher than education as a determining factor.
The survey concluded that management burn-out is inevitable. All managers, through no fault of their own, can find their performance at work deteriorating under pressure. However, most organisations see burn-out as an embarrassment and are at a loss when dealing with it.
