Poetry list saved by Manchester publisher

Oxford University Press says its publishing of contemporary poetry "is to be safeguarded after all" through a deal it has struck with Carcanet Press, the specialist poetry publisher in Manchester. The press's announcement last month that it was dropping the list attracted fierce criticism from arts minister Alan Howarth. OUP now says: "All living poets on the OUP list have been invited to join this new venture, where their books will continue to be promoted collectively as 'Oxford Poets'."
