Ten British companies are travelling to this week's UK-Cuba biotechnology seminar, which is aimed at putting British business in touch with Cuban research institutes despite the United States trade embargo. It is hoped the meeting, jointly organised by the Department of Trade and Industry, through its Caribbean Trade Advisory Group, and Cuba's foreign trade ministry, could lead to the joint production of vaccines to fight some of the world's most dangerous diseases.
