* Lecturers' union Natfhe is to call for a fundamental review of pay and conditions for further education staff at this year's Trades Union Congress annual conference. Natfhe's motion welcomes the Learning to Succeed white paper, which reforms post-16 funding and planning, but says that it must be underpinned by a fundamental review of pay, conditions of service and employee training and development for all working in the post-compulsory sector, including further education. The union's other major motion calls for a separate policy-making conference for disabled employees. General secretary Paul Mackney (above) said that such a conference would give disabled people the chance to set priorities for their own unions and the TUC.
