Satirical science magazine Annals of Improbable Research has asked readers whose DNA they believe Celera Genomics sequenced to produce a working draft of the human genome. Craig Venter, Celera Genomics's president, not only topped the poll, but came second and third.
Confronted by The THES with the statistics, Dr Venter said:
"Any scientifically, intellectually curious person would want to know their own genetic code. I can't imagine too many people in the field not wanting to know."
