Bangor's income from research activities is its highest ever. The university has netted more than £14 million this year - £6 million more than last year.
The largest proportion of that increase is due to money received from the United Kingdom research councils - up 126 per cent on last year.
Since 1994-95 the university has outperformed the UK average for attracting research funding. Part of this growth is because of an increase in income from the business sector.
