Demonstrators strip staff
Demonstrators commemorated the first anniversary of the police raid that ended a ten-month occupation of the National Autonomous University of Mexico by blockading buildings and preventing 50 staff from leaving by taking their trousers and shoes.
Syria sanctions private universities
The ruling Syrian Ba'ath party has decided to allow private universities to operate alongside branches of Arab or international universities and the existing state university system, the country's offical news agency has reported.
