Scot-US alliance produces war images
The highest-quality images ever taken of seven first world war wrecks in Scapa Flow, Orkney, have been produced following a four-day project. The survey, ScapaMAP, is the result of collaboration between Heriot-Watt University; the University of New Hampshire, United States; Reson Offshore Ltd, Aberdeen; and the archaeological diving unit, University of St Andrews.
NHS 'needs twice as many neurologists'
The National Health Service needs twice as many neurologists if it is to cope with a rise in brain illnesses, Charles Warlow, president of the Association of British Neurologists, claimed today. He told the World Congress of Neurology, in London, that Britain had one of the lowest ratios of neurologists per person in the developed world.
Glasgow course targets drug-abuse care
Drugs and adult education experts at Glasgow University have joined forces with drugs charity DrugScope to launch the Strada training course across Scotland to ensure better care for people who misuse drugs and alcohol.
