The students' associations of the ancient Scottish universities last week launched themselves as a lobby group, Chess, the Coalition of Higher Education Students in Scotland.
The organisation said it did not intend to challenge the National Union of Students - Jindeed, any attempt to visit www.chess.org.uk automatically diverts to the NUS website.
