Education secretary Estelle Morris this week unveiled how school improvements will help to reach the government's target of 50 per cent of young people experiencing higher education by 2010. Ms Morris wants half of secondary schools to become specialist schools, focusing on technology, sport or languages, within the next four years.
She said: "We need to be bolder and change our secondary system if we are to deliver high standards for all our children."
