Brussels, 21 Nov 2002
The conference 'Creating sustainable products, services and product-service-systems' will take place in Sweden on the and 28 October 2003.
The conference aims to respond to the recommendation by the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) to 'encourage and promote the development of a 10 year framework of programmes in support of regional and national initiatives to accelerate the shift towards sustainable consumption and production, to promote social and economic [...] and reducing resource degradation, pollution and waste'.
The event will analyse the problems, barriers and obstacles to sustainable innovation associated with existing social, legislative, economic and management systems and will highlight new business, organisational and product development models and opportunities. A unique feature will be the 'living laboratory' that will showcase new products, services, concepts and thinking.
The conference organisers also have issued a call for papers for inclusion in the living laboratory. The event is organised by the Centre for Sustainable Design and sponsored by The Nordic Council of Ministers, Swedish Business Development Agency (NUTEK), and the Swedish Ministry of Environment.
